Bear has lost it completely!! What has happened to him?! Where did he get the Napoleon outfit?! Will he ever been the same?!
Only time will tell, comrades.

On Wednesday, a very special lesson in military tactics from Colonel Ilsa Komarov!!

Hope you liked the strip!

Inappropriate costumes have always been found in the oddest of places. Did you know when Shackleton made his attempt to cross the Antarctic with his crew of burly men and smelly dogs, they still managed to have a Drag Show!? (and no I don't mean they raced for a 1/4 mile).

Also a good entertaining way to learn about the Napoleonic wars is to read Bernard Cornwell's Sharpe

Poor Bear!*

* Not to be confused with Pooh Bear(tm), another ursine who tries to live peacefully and who has weird friends

I wonder where he got the Bonaparte uniform and more importantly whose under-roos he'll be wearing on Wednesday? o.O;

Maybe Colonel Ilsa will dress as Nurse Ratched (or Ratchet if you prefer Futurama) Laika will be the "Chief" though he'll probably get it wrong and be the "Chef" and Tiger can be Taber hassling Yeti over a game of Monopoly.

How did bear learn French? I know he's a scholarly type, but you'd think that Tiger would have pounced on Bear's proficiency in language by now...

I understand the costume. Up until about two minutes ago I thought everyone kept a Napoleon costume for those Fridays where you feel on top of the world. Apparently not.

...Please tell me everyone has a Tuesday Darth Vader outfit. (For the Tuesdays where your bosses treat you like crap, and you just want to Force Choke them).

I did not know that, but it does sound like a delightful diversion from trekking through a frozen wasteland... Or not... I don't know, really. I'm not much of a cross-dresser.

The under-roos are always a point of contention. I don't think Laika would give any of his up without a fight. For Bear's sake, let's hope that he doesn't transition to an old emperor.

oooOOOOooooh... that is good.

Wow. Looks like I had my money on the dot last week.

Now, here's a question that relates to Napoleon... Anyone read the Temeraire series? I haven;t myself, but my friend swears by them, and I may end up reading them one day...

I love the panel of pause while he dredges through his memory for rudimentary French skills.

Can't wait see how Napolean-Bear responds to orders from his chain of command.... coup, anyone?

Well Bears lost it, though you kinda have to wonder how he managed to get a Napoleon outfit in the middle of Siberia.

What I find so amazing is that Colonel Bear seems to have a far greater knowledge of Genghis Khan's strategies that Napoleon's... anything! You'd think Napoleon would leave a more lasting impression in the Russian military after he, you know, invaded and all.

Though if he's Napoleon, it does mean he's at least on his way to the modern era. I can see Bear making an interesting De Gaulle, Santa Anna, Ataturk, Patton, or Admiral Pointdexter!
